Letter from Recruitment Chair

As a freshman, I came to William & Mary with almost no real knowledge of what it meant to be part of a sorority.  However, because I wanted to immerse myself in everything that a freshman could do to make the most of the college experience, I went through recruitment to see first-hand what it was all about: trying hard not to let any preconceived notions get in the way of me making a decision for myself.  As I came to learn, most people go through recruitment with some level of skepticism about Greek life.  But what I’ve also learned is that going through recruitment is the only way to really learn if it’s right for you.  For me personally, joining Delta Gamma was a great decision. As an analytical person, I’d like to put my finger on exactly why I think that; but that’s hard to do.  Yes, through philanthropy events, formals, date parties, and sisterhood events, I’ve built some of the strongest friendships I’ve ever had.  And, yes, I feel the comfort of a strong support system that’s shown up in surprising areas throughout my college experience.  And, yes, I’ve grown as a person through leadership opportunities and exposure to a diverse group of talented, inspiring women.  However, there is something special about the DG sisterhood that despite all my analysis, I can’t really explain (especially not in writing), and so I invite you to learn for yourself in person.

Each member of our sisterhood is a unique, wonderful woman, with her own individual perspective on the impact DG has on her life. I encourage you to register for formal recruitment and meet more of the amazing women who make up our chapter. We’d love to tell you more about our sisterhood!
